What is 3FA?
3FA – this super-secure way of verifying someone’s identity when they actually try to log in, sign up or basically do anything sensible – is a no-brainer.
It puts together three things basically…
- Something you know – like your password or PIN should do the trick
- Something you have – hopefully it’s not just lying around for anyone to pick up – like your phone or a security token
- Something you are – scan that face or fingerprint for us
All three need to be a match otherwise don’t even think about logging in.
How does this 3FA work?
So 3FA basically builds on the already decent 2FA by chucking in a biometric check , just on top of that password and device code, which puts the kibosh on even a super determined thief & their stolen password & phone.
